For this week, you will not be required to comment on your classmates' blogs, but I would encourage you to see the work that your classmates are doing in case you are still struggling.
For students presenting on Tuesday, September 29th, your blog is due before class on October 2nd. If you present on Thursday, the blog will be due by 10pm on October 3rd.

Thesis: Anzaldua compares identity to bridges by arguing that identity can prohibit feminists from expanding their views within the feminist conversation.
ReplyDeleteTopic Sentence #1: Anzaldua compares a bridge to how we need to let different types of identifications into the conversation by saying "we need to move beyond separate and easy identifications..."(2) and cross the bridges that will allow others to join.
Topic Sentence #2: Another point Anzaldua argues is that in order for more people to join the feminist conversation, they need to use bridges of diversity.
Thesis: In the essay, “Beyond Traditional Notions of Identity,” Gloria Anzaldúa explains that her audience should further the feminist cause by encouraging a more inclusive conversation.

Topic Sentence 1: Anzaldua disusses how her life was shook when the earth quake hits “shattering the mythology that grounds you.” (4)
Topic Sentence 2: Then she realized the reality of the disease she has to face head on.
Topic Sentence 3: With all that she has gone through she still flies to the East Coast to attend a “feminist academic conference”, where she puts her life more in perspective.

TS 2: Anzaldua creates an analogy to connect the idea of retribalizing with the image of crossing a bridge (identity) to find a happy in between. *Is it bad to include a word in parenthesis like that?*
